All our repair work is backed by a 30 day guarantee.
At Phil’s Bike Shop, we know that every bike is different. Every service is preceded by a mechanic-to-customer* dialog and bike inspection; just stop in with your bike and we’ll provide an estimate for free on the spot. During this survey, we will hear your concerns, discuss problems we see, tabulate an accurate labor + parts cost estimate, and commit to a work completion date. Other than flat fixes and small jobs, most repairs require one to three business days to complete.
Estimates for Common Repairs
- Flat tire: Typically we can provide service while you wait for $10 to $18 (save time and money by bringing in the wheel by itself). New tubes purchased a la cart run from $5 to $12. Learn more about flats…
- Tune-up: A basic general tune up for a multi speed bicycle will cost $55 in labor. Our tune up includes adjustment to the brakes and derailleurs, minor wheel truing, tension check on vital bolts, lubrication to the cables and chain, inflation of the tires, bike cleaning (though not detailing), and an overall safety inspection. This basic tune up does not cover the cost of additional parts or the incremental labor increase to install these parts. We will discuss it all during your service evaluation, but for full satisfaction it is common to spend an additional $10 to $35 on replacement parts (e.g. cables, brake pads, tires, etc.).
- Training Wheels: $37 dollars will provide most 12″-16″ bikes with a top-quality made-in-USA set of training wheels professionally installed. Additional charges may apply for 20″ wheeled bicycles. Sorry, multi-gear bicycles are not eligible for training wheels.
These are estimates only, for an accurate quote please bring the bike to the shop.

* “Mechanic to customer dialog” means you, the bike, and one of us all here live and in person at the same time; so texts, Tweets, emails, photos, descriptions, or Skype interactions will not suffice. Thank you.
